The bed is made from 0.8mm rust-resistant galvanised steel with 1.2mm corner supports and a smooth rolled top edge. Eight pre-drilled drainage holes let excess water drain away from the roots.

What should I fill it with?
Use a good-quality, lightweight potting mix rather than heavy garden soil. The top bed holds up to 100kg, so don't overfill it. Excess water drains through the base, so place it where drips won't be a problem.
What can I grow in it?
Herbs, lettuce and other salad greens, cherry tomatoes, strawberries and compact flowers all suit an elevated planter. Check the root depth on the seed packet or plant tag and choose plants that suit the space.
Can bees and other pollinators reach my plants under the cover?
Not while the cover is zipped closed. When flowering crops such as tomatoes, zucchini or strawberries start to bloom, unzip the front panel and roll it up, using the green ties on the top rail to hold it open during the day. Zip it back down when you need protection from birds and larger pests again.
Can I move it once it's planted?
Yes. Release the locking wheels and roll it slowly on smooth, level ground. Soil and water add weight, so avoid steps, gaps and uneven paving, and lock the wheels again once it's in position.
Does it need assembly?
Yes. Assembly instructions are included. Wear gloves when handling the steel parts and check all fixings are secure before adding your potting mix.
